Our Philosophy
The philosophy is an important part of every early education and care service. It underpins decisions about the physical environment, our programs and how our team work with children. Our management team worked together to develop this philosophy in 2024. It is reviewed annually, with input sought from educators, families and even children.
If you have any questions about our philosophy, please ask one of our team or email our Operations Managers – operations@myplayhouse.com.au

High Quality Practice
We value high quality practice in our service. Our educators are supported to provide programs, environments and experiences that are underpinned by research, theories and best practice. We are influenced by a range of theorists and thinkers, with a particular focus on infanttoddler practice, schema play, nature play and risky play. We recognise that the first five years of a child’s life are vital for building strong foundations for learning and growth, and as such, are committed to ongoing critical reflection and professional learning

Open Communication and Relationships
We are committed to building relationships based on open communication, connection and trust between children, educators, families and management. Our educators value the sharing of information and magical moments through conversation and meaningful, authentic documentation of children’s play and learning. tWe recognise that building strong community connections also plays an important role in providing high quality programs and experiences for children.

Merging Home and Care
We recognise the trust that families have in our service to care for their children and are committed to creating a physical and relational environment that feels like an extension of home. From nutritious, delicious meals that reflect family cultures, to celebrating the moments that matter and feeling welcome to sit, connect and just be in our space, we want My Playhouse to feel like home for the children, families and educators who spend their days with us.

Engaged Educators
We encourage our educators to grow, learn and evolve through ongoing professional learning, and foster a sense of wellbeing that drives educator retention and consistency for children. By creating a culture of professionalism, inspiration and connection, our educators are able to be the best that they can be for children and families. Our educators are committed to their role as advocates, nurturers and protectors of children’s play.
